The 4th Amsterdam Cello Biennale was a huge succes! |
|
The fourth Amsterdam Cello Biennale has attracted more than 22,000 visitors, over 1,000 more than the previous Biennale in 2010! The large audience attendance, many international celebrities, the inspiring presence of composer Tan Dun, the involvement of the Conservatory of Amsterdam, the 17 lovely candidates of the National Cello Competition, the unique concert of the Mega Kids Cello Orchestra with composer and conductor Martin Fondse, the wonderful programs and unique kids show by Cello8ctet Amsterdam, the omnipresent and enchanting Ragazze Quartet, the large number of cello students from all over the world, many recordings and live broadcasts on Radio 4, it ensured nine days of elation, excitement and happiness of the many musical highlights, unexpected encounters, inspiring words and touching moments. The Biennale had attracted great media attention. Film crews from Japan, Germany, Ireland and the Netherlands visited the Biennale. Omroep Max made a TV production of the Opening and webcasted the Closing Event Cello Coupe which can be seen on Radio 4/webcast. |
